Freedom is a powerful short film exploring identity, resilience, and the emotional journey toward self-liberation. Through bold visuals and intimate storytelling, the film captures the tension between personal truth and societal expectations, offering a moving portrait of reclaiming one’s voice.
As the Colorist, I worked closely with the director to shape a visual tone that reflects the film’s emotional landscape, from muted, constrained palettes that represent internal struggle, to vibrant hues that symbolize release and empowerment. The color grade played a crucial role in enhancing the story’s emotional beats and supporting the performances with visual depth.
Freedom was officially selected for the Diversity program at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it was celebrated for its bold perspective and impactful aesthetic.
